In my last post, I was unhappy with the first painting so I painted over it (see the process below). Wonderful things can happen when you paint over another painting. After each layer, I sand each layer and after sanding, some of the under layer of paint begins to show through. I continue that process with each layer.
If you look at the original painting, you can see that the horse’s face colors were first the woman’s dress. And you can still see the lines that were her legs and her walking stick. I love how that happens.
