Gallery News – Sold!

“Everything great that ever happened in this world happened first in somebody’s imagination.”¬†-Astrid Lindgren¬†

I enjoy painting animals. I tend to think a lot about what animals are up to when we aren’t looking. I know -for sure- they are a lot more intelligent than we’ve given them credit for. I also enjoy telling stories from an animal’s point of view. But even better than that is when someone purchases a painting. Making that connection – sharing that story with someone – makes my heart sing. Thank you.

But I couldn’t sell this work without Cheryl Engledow at High Country Art. I’ve been with her gallery since September 2013 and she’s such a great promoter of my art – encouraging and supportive and now a great friend. These pieces sold last month, but I constantly refresh inventory with her. If you happen to be visiting the north Georgia mountains head to Blue Ridge and visit the gallery. She carries a lot of great work – sculpture, paintings, jewelry and more. She’s also happy to work with you by phone if you live too far for a visit. (see the tab – ‘gallery representation’ for info)

“Artists are intuitive. They wait for inspiration. That’s what art is about – the intuitive – not the intellectual. Art about ideas stimulates ideas, but art that comes from inspiration stimulates feelings of happiness, innocence and beauty.”¬†-Agnes Martin

About Judy Shreve

Blogging for me is like keeping a journal which I have done in various forms since I can remember. But what's great about this format is it offers an opportunity to explore all the things that interest me as an artist with others. Blogging seems to strengthen that sense of being part of both something personal and something universal. It takes the journaling idea and expands it through visitor's comments creating a valuable dialog that connects us to each other no matter where we live. I enjoy responding to each comment and warmly welcome your visits. email: judyshreve at mac dot com
