“One does not stand still looking for a path. One walks; and as one walks, a path comes into being.” -Mas Kodani

I’ve mentioned before that a piece of mine was juried into a show in April – ARTFIELDS. The show takes place in Lake City SC April 20-28, 2018. It’s unique in it’s format. The entire town gets involved and local businesses become galleries to showcase the juried work. Then the townspeople and guests vote on their favorite pieces in different categories and those pieces win cash prizes. Cash is always good, but it’s also a great way to get more exposure. I am able to provide some marketing materials, so I created a 5×7 postcard size info card — the front is the juried work and the back is a brief bio. I had them done with Moo  and I’m really pleased with their work.

Spotlight on Art just wrapped up. The show consists of 350 artists in different mediums and runs for 8 days. This is its 35 year. That’s amazing in itself. I provided 15 pieces and 5 sold. I am happy! Thank you!

These are the pieces that sold –

“I wondered today if all the things I am making with my two hands, my ten fingers, my one mind, are actually making me? As I bring more into existence out of nothing that lives around me, are more pieces of me being brought to life at the same time?” – Tyler Knott Gregson

About Judy Shreve

Blogging for me is like keeping a journal which I have done in various forms since I can remember. But what's great about this format is it offers an opportunity to explore all the things that interest me as an artist with others. Blogging seems to strengthen that sense of being part of both something personal and something universal. It takes the journaling idea and expands it through visitor's comments creating a valuable dialog that connects us to each other no matter where we live. I enjoy responding to each comment and warmly welcome your visits. email: judyshreve at mac dot com

Nice postcard and like that your artist’s statement is on the other side. Your narrative paintings are of you, so natural and expressive and inquisitive.

Charlene — thanks! Sometimes I get so lost in my ‘narratives’ ha!

I’m happy with my info cards and glad they are not site-specific so I can use them in other ways. I’m thinking of creating a small book (Snapfish) to use to approach galleries. Have you worked with any of the online graphic companies?
